August 2006

It’s kind of funny - we live 100km from each other and we met yet. Until this weekend, when we fixed this big mistake.
After a short discussion, we picked a destination - a pool club not far away from us. More then an hour we were having fun, playing pool and 9-ball, no matter that we almost had no money (the end of the month.. you know - living from salary to salary). What’s the result? I don’t know, I was not counting it.

Thats not it. We thought that some sightseeing would be great, so I led the way to Belmontas waterfalls. Damn weddings.. A narrow road and a wedding ceremony slowing down the traffic, hate that.. Just let us pass.. We walked in Pavilnys regional park, talked about Mad For Speed and other buissines, but with some good sense of humor.

The time was running and the most exciting moment was getting closer - we were going to a race track. On the way we were trying to cacth up with Ferrari 512 TR (Testarossa), thatgave us some more fun. At last I got out of car in Plytines go-kart track. And the rest of the time we spent racing in a track with another 6 people. So expect some serious work done in MFS as we had a great, relaxing time with some pain in the back :D but thats ok

And for the end, here are some pictures:

What a terrible weather today.
“Maybe I’ll check the code for bugs” - i thought.
I did.. Used some software to speedup the process and what do you think? We were so stupid to leave Cookies without any checks. There were several security vulnerabilities through language, visitor and theme cookies. Most of them: remote include or XSS (cross-site scripting) and some SQL injections.
So I sit back, got myself some mineral water (yes yes, mineral, not beer :P ) and fixed all of them. Now there is a check and a clean-up. The rest of the main page looks secure enought for now. Some seriuos checks will be done after the rewrite of the code to OOP (object oriented programming) style.

Well, we do this again, for about fifth time, just to ensure that it works correct, secure and fast , also it becomes smaller and alot more easy to update and edit.

The main thing now is to convert most parts of the game from functions based code to so called OOP (Object Oriented Programming), where each part of the game is a separate object with its own functions and variables.

As well, we are re-coding the language system so it becomes more flexible and optimal. We used to kep all the translations in one file with alot of variables, while now it will be stored in MySQL database and only the ones we need will be loaded. So dont worry if you see some strange characters in page for some upcoming weeks - Work In Progress

Ok, so what the hell is this and why this is happening?
First, you should know that Mad For Speed is a Free Multiplayer Online Racing Simulator, thats is in development by two Lithuanian programmers.

The project was started by Skyruler just for fun and for learning php. After some time me, drawgas, started working together. From some funny idea it grew up to a big will to have a great online racing simulator, that would differ from the existing ones.
